I Gave ChatGPT 1,283 Old Enquiries

29 October 2026 · Liam Webb on YouTube

For business owners and agencies with a list of old enquiries nobody has called back.

It opens with 13 real calls our AI agent made for Cloudrift. Craig owns Cloudrift, getaways on the Vaal River. From one chat with ChatGPT I set up a SmartAlex campaign to phone 1,283 people who enquired before. We check it, start it and listen in on live calls. That evening at Ocean Basket, ChatGPT reports back: 1,015 call attempts, 160 answered and 30 callback requests.

Intro

Okay, so Liam, we've adopted SmartAlex into Cloudrift. What does it mean? How do we kick this whole thing off?

Okay, so, SmartAlex is best understood when you really simplify it, to a point where all you need to imagine is someone that can actually make phone calls. So, it can it can actually phone all your guests, phone your contact list. So, in in some in some areas in the world, it's not you're not allowed to do like cold calling. So, the part that SmartAlex becomes very beneficial in is when you actually use it to activate your old contact database, and that kind of thing.

So, how many how many in the database right now?

Okay, so, I I need to ask ChatGPT that first. So, I'm going to say ChatGPT, "Hey, can you tell me how many people are in the Cloudrift database?" And what's going to happen now is this is going to So, SmartAlex is going to connect to ChatGPT,

Which means that, you don't have to use our interface if you don't want to. You can use all of our tools within

You're going to then prompt the call to make the call. So, it's a canvassing call to get guests to stay at the

Yeah, people that have already stayed at or not stayed at Cloudrift, but,

So, it's it's not like a total cold call. It's people that have come across Cloudrift the past.

So, in the old world, I would get an individual to make those calls.

And to to spend the day or 2 days making those calls, you're going to set the campaign out to make those calls.

Kind of

Right now.

Right now. Right now.

So, here it says there are currently contacts in the Cloud Staff database. So, it's going to be a normal call

That they make on behalf of Cloud Staff.

Campaign

So, now what we want to do is I'm going to say, "Hey, I need you to help me set up a campaign. The campaign is to phone all of these people right now. One of the the big deterrents last time in our campaign was that people basically wanted to stay for two nights and we had a minimum stay for four nights. So, I need you to make sure that Cloud, which is the agent for Cloud Staff, knows that that we can that they can stay for two nights.

She needs to have context into all of their previous questions. And then, yeah, we basically just need to start the campaigns. Okay, so I literally Let me just show you my So, have a look here. I've literally gone ahead.

So, that's basically me asking Chat GPT. I'm literally just logged into Chat GPT. And that's me going into Chat GPT, asking Chat GPT a few questions, and Chat GPT is literally connecting to Cloud. Sorry, not connecting to Cloud.

It's connecting to SmartAlex.

Okay, so what will happen now is it'll make the call based on the prompting of information you want it to convey.

And it will also if if the prospect or the previous guest has some sort of inclination, it will provide them a link to book.

Okay, so there is a there is a conclusion, a point of sale conclusion to every single call.

So, what happens if you can't get through to someone? If it goes to voicemail, what happens then?

It will retry, which we're going to go into now.

Okay, good. That Craig just mentioned something quite important. What is your suggested sequence for retrying people? So, obviously, I want to phone 1,300 people this week.

I know that today maybe five would answer or 15 or 20 or how many however many are actually going to answer. Let's make sure that we can phone people like on a sequence so like we can actually retry them.

That is so

Yeah, so we're going to actually listen to to real calls happen right now. Literally right now we're going to hear

And and if the prospect wants wants Cloud to phone back it will do that.

Yes, yes, yes, so so it will do that as well. So here it says I suggest three attempts per person start today. Retry unanswered calls at least 24 hours later then make one final attempt 24 hours later. So I'm going to say I'm happy with that sequence.

Let's go ahead and start this out.

Craig's view

So for anyone listening Craig is actually the owner of Cloudrift. Okay. So you you as a business owner that own Cloudrift amongst many other businesses but Cloudrift is one that you know very well which is why we're always doing it on the phone and I talk about the owner of Cloudrift Craig is the owner so I'm allowed to do that but have a look at I've asked literally just a few questions on on ChatGPT the interface that 2 billion people in the world actually use. I've I've gone and asked it questions and what this is doing is it is like doing all the work that a normal team would take like a month to set up.

And with great precision I

For the call everything.

My concern always in the hospitality space is to not lose that personal

Yeah and

How do we bridge that gap here?

This increases it so much. Point two is how many times in the last year have you been phoned by a hospitality group or by a group that if you had gotten the phone call a very good phone call you would have gone actually may may maybe I may maybe I should stay there on on my next trip. Like like what if Cape Grace phoned you and said Mr. Berman we'd love to have you again.

You'd go oh my goodness okay maybe I should make a trip out of it because

Timing is right.

An impressive thing or phoning you and saying Craig Berman next time you're you're interested in traveling we'd we'd love to host you. I mean that's a unique thing in hospitality It is a proactive

Personal touch, too.

Ready

Exactly. So, all right. So, now over Cloud Chaze has just said to me, "There are 1,283 eligible contacts with phone numbers. After the exclusions, the campaign is prepared."

So, okay, that is that is insane. It's literally like two nights stays are the main message, three attempts at least 24 hours apart, and I'm

Just but also while you're busy, it can also be targeted to target a couple of days that one wants to fill up in the event that we've got openings, maybe a Thursday and a Friday.

Exactly that.

You you could target this campaign space and time period to focus on those two days.

Yeah, what you think is actually perfect because I can actually show them now. I can actually show them over here. Let's quickly come into here.

I mean, if you can do this efficiently for me, you're solving a real problem.

So, look here. Here are Here's two nights stays, okay? Here's the whole campaign that has literally just been on the SmartAlex platform in real time. That is That is insane.

I mean, what I really like about this, Liam, is that I can designate a time to make the call, and I can measure the outcome maybe an hour or 2 hours later, block it. And say, "This is what happened in the 2-hour period." And I'm going to Am I right? See a full transcript of each call.

And calls in real time happening.

And and just know who answered, who didn't answer, where And the clarity is in in in a tranche is so

It's It's important to have. I'm going to give you $200. There. Cloud can I start making phone calls?

Okay, so over Okay, so Craig, what you're looking at is the Cloud Chaze dashboard.

The list

This is actually the SmartAlex dashboard that Cloud Chaze has access to.

Can I talk to you whilst you're busy as well? Just ask a couple of questions. Obviously, so you've taken the database, you've loaded it into Cloud through the SmartAlex platform.

SmartAlex platform. And essentially, it will also clean up the database.

Is that that that also is a bonus to this whole thing? Because it updates everyone's position and status, right?

Correct. Correct.

Okay. Good.

Okay. So, now what this has said is all all 1,283 contacts are all added the two-night offer in the first attempt. What I do want you to do is obviously a lot of these people's names have like emojis in them. Make sure that they aren't seeing emojis in them.

Yeah. So, can you see over here? So, some of these people we don't really have names. We've just got numbers for them.

So, how do we address these people, then? Or is it just a generic that you have stated Cloudlift? Or

Well, let's ask chat.

How do you address people that just have phone numbers or like a heart as their emoji? Like an emoji heart as their name. How do we address and fix that? I mean I mean this is me literally just talking to chat.

And here is the if we have a look here

The response to

Here's literally the the entire campaign that's being created. And can you see where it says nine chicks passed? This is our system that's automatically run a simulation before the campaign actually starts. So, purpose

What what are those? Chicks

Okay. So, like the agent is Cloud. It's calling from four different phone

The audience is 1,283 people. The purpose is to win them back.

The opening line is 26 words, which takes about 11 seconds. The calling times is weekdays from 9:00 to 5:00. The balance is enough to start calling. Thank goodness.

The follow-up text is off. And the test call is you you have made a call in in the last 90 days. So, that's fine. Okay.

So, now it's saying for those contacts, Cloud should use a neutral greeting rather than read the phone number or emoji aloud. It should say, "Hi, I'm Cloud Cloud's AI assistant. Who am I speaking with?" Apply these rules.

So, I'm going to say, "Yes, please apply all of those rules." and are we ready to start calling it?

Can I say something?

All right. So, I would just correct that script by saying, "Who am I before you say Who am I talking to?" I think we need to emphasize that you have stated Cloudlift previously.

Well, no. These are going to 1,300 people that I have just acquired.

Oh, so they haven't They're not guests that that have stayed previously. Okay. Then you can say, "Who am I talking to?" All right.

And it's applying the the name clean up and greeting rules through the connector. It's as

As easy as that as to prompt.

Yeah, it's it's pretty insane.

Go live

Okay, Cloud's greeting rules are now saved. I found 139 records needing clean up. Okay, so it's just putting cleaning it all up. And if we come straight back into Let's come straight back into SmartAlex.

Okay, so everyone is queued over here. And they're all ready to call. So, we're going to start the campaign

In literally the next couple of seconds.

Ah, wonderful. And we're going to phone 1,300 people.

Yes, well, to be exact to be exact 1,283 people. So, it's missing Yes, I'm happy for you to start. Let's go ahead.

Okay, did we set the voice up? South African voice?

This is already using the Cloud Agent. It's already so

Okay, so it's the agent they're familiar with on the website.

New opener

This is if we can communicate with Okay, what I'm going to say to chat quickly is yeah, just just a quick one to be mindful of. I think it's quite important is when you when you make the phone call, make sure that the people know, which is what Craig said, make sure that the people know

Just the context.

Yeah, the the context around the phone call cuz I I mean, like it it it has all the context, but it needs to know like that like this person has previously and you just wanted to understand if they were helped, if timing wasn't like just why they haven't booked yet. You know, that kind of thing, but they might not remember who you are. So, just

Help them back.

Yeah, how would you adjust the the the script that way? So, yeah.

So, Liam, it's also It's also easier saying that. It's also like flying a plane. You you've got to initially you've got to at least just guide and and then correct quite quickly and then it kind of rolls, right?

Okay, I'm happy with the process.

Says here, I'll update the opener. Yes, I'm happy for you to to make all those changes. Obviously, Cloud also handles a lot of inbound calls. So, don't make don't change inbound.

Just make sure that outbound the the outbound script is changed. And then yeah, let's update everything and get everything going, please. So, just give us a few seconds and then we'll close off here and then we'll continue later. Let's see here.

I'm excited about chapter two of this. I want to hear see the reviews. I'm like a child in a candy store.

You know, so you'll see over here, let's see, we already have five answers. One updated only. Cloud will establish the inquiry context. The campaign remains active.

Okay, so all the changes done and then we'll continue later. See you. Yes, all requests are saved. Done.

And that's how easy it is.

I can't wait to meet you later.

Pretty insane, huh?

I'm excited. Thanks.

Results

So, this morning we obviously filmed the creation of the campaign. And now what we're doing is Right now we're going to actually film an overview of

So, this is the follow-up call.

So, this is basically how the campaign

So, so what is the summary? How many people were we going to call?

So, basically today we spoke about calling 1,200 something people. Okay, so now I'm going to go I'm going to I'm going to come into chat and I'm going to basically say to chat over here, "So, can you tell me today how many people we called, how many answered, just give me a quick stats rundown on the campaign?" Okay, so I want you to include what time the campaign started, how many people we called, how many answers we got, how many potential bookings we got. Is there anything I need to do?

Is there anything you need to do? Is there any follow-up you have to create? So, the campaign started at approximately 12:42 p.m.

Okay, that makes sense.

Okay, so what what ChatGPT is now doing literally from my phone is it's pulling the latest tools and review the booking inquiries and pull back records so I can separate potential booking from follow-up and I still need that still need to action. So, I mean this is like quite an amazing thing that like you can go out at night and you can basically

You while you're sleeping.

Get a full snapshot of your entire and all the conversations had for your entire business literally all from your phone.

Well, I'd be very interested to see right now how many from 12:00 how many

And this is particularly interesting for you to know because we told everyone that's watching in the beginning of the video that you actually own the property. It's your it's your business.

So, over here the latest summary shows 1,015 call 160 answered conversations, and 30 call back requests.

So, listen. So, if I close 10 deals from the 30

Yeah, it's it's a

It's huge.

It's it's more than what you Yeah, it it's basically an entire month's worth of work consolidated into one day.

One day?

4 hours. Well, no, yeah. Look here, it's just done a beautiful breakdown. So, it started the call attempts, answered conversations was 15.

8%. Potential bookings at least seven concrete inquiries from reviewed calls.

So, we can extrapolate that and we can focus on more targets, right?

The potential bookings are inquiries with dates, accommodation required. So, now I'm going to say, "Can you build this into like a nice little visual report that we can send to our team? And are there any do not call requests?" So, are there any people that had negative conversations that didn't want to call back and how have we handled those people?

And yeah, just give me an overview on that. So, now if I do that now, I'm literally just talking to my phone. It's like a It's like doing an end-of-day meeting with your team.

So, you're dictating and you're just giving the full instruction and you're

It's doing all the work for you. So, yeah. I'll build a team visual report and track the negative conversations, opt-out requests. I'm using the PDF skill to make a compact shareable report with campaign metrics, booking opportunity booking opportunities, and a separate opt-out review.

And it's what it would naturally take 2 hours to do anyway, but to do it

Way more than

So, we're on the right track here.

So, check check here. Listed PDF like it's literally pretty building everything for us.

So, I mean it's just more efficient than any human being could ever be.

Way more. Now, imagine you had a team of 10 people and they all use this tool. You would You You don't need to let go of anyone in your team, but you accelerate your your team by a massive amount. Yeah, there's also a guest who declined an offer, declined a callback, wanted to speak to a person.

I'm separating those from

Permanent opt-outs.

It said here, "I verified one explicit do not call request."

So, and these people on the do not call list will never get dialed by our agents ever again.

All right.

So, the agent actually picked that up itself, which is quite amazing.

So, essentially the keyboard is gone and it's just voice interaction.

Yeah, 100% and and just like like quick

I if I hear a call that I don't like or I hear a nuance that I don't like, I can rephrase that and get the assistant to essentially present it in a different

Let's do that. And it corrects itself in real time.

Okay, good.

Okay, so so so here. The audit confirms 1,000 distinct contacts dialed. The do not call list has grown from eight to nine including today's one verified opt-out. So, the the amazing thing is that like everyone has this perception that AI is perfect.

Okay? AI is as perfect as the system you build around it, but AI's never going to get to a point where like it it is 100% perfect because nothing is ever perfect. Like nothing ever be perfect, but AI is definitely magnitudes more efficient than a human is in many tasks. Not in everything, but in many things.

But humans aren't perfect themselves.

Okay, so

Nothing is perfect. So like think of think of the the concept of a car, okay? When when the car You have an old car. When the when when and you were comparing it to an to an ox wagon, what's it called?

Like like the the baby before cars. Imagine saying, "I'm not going to drive the car cuz it's not perfect." Why? Because cars still today aren't Like it's the same with with AI.

AI allows you to get places quicker.

See, that's it, guys.
